At Omega Hardwoods, we understand that there are specific regulations put in place by the FDA for food safety. To be considered food grade, pallets must be kiln-dried. This ensures that the wood won’t grow mold, or absorb harmful substances.

At Omega Hardwoods, we comply with the international phytosanitary measure referred to as ISPM 15. ISPM 15 gives companies the ability to ship products outside of the United States. Companies that export goods across international borders on wooden pallets are required to use pallets that comply with IPPC ISPM 15.* Omega Hardwoods has been a certified Minnesota manufacturer of KDHT pallets since the ISPM15 program was introduced.
* International Plant Protection Convention, International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 is an international regulation aimed at protecting plants from pests that could be spread via wooden shipping platforms and containers.
